Charity Fundraising

Engagement with Education

We work closely with schools, colleges and universities to share with students real-world knowledge and experience. This ranges from staff visits, to work experience, to longer-term placements.

Local Community

We are keen to support academia, community groups and other committees where possible to share our knowledge. We often engage with careers fairs, school workshops, event seminars and panel talks to share our industry knowledge with others.

Early Careers Investment

We recognise the huge skills gap in the construction and engineering industry, which is why we have our own in-house Apprenticeship and ICE accredited Graduate Training Schemes to grow our own talent.

Supporting local causes

Waldeck support a range of local causes and groups, not only that affect our staff individually, such as supporting their children’s grass-root sports teams, but also that affect those around us such as local food banks and wildlife trusts.

Supporting human rights is incredibly important to us as a business, which is why we have policies and procedures in place to protect the safety and welfare of our team. We also take great pride in being an inclusive business with a diverse workforce who give back to their community.

Changing perceptions

In a predominantly male industry, where ‘mental health’ is a taboo subject. We are working hard as a business to break down barriers and put measures in place to champion men and women alike, as well as opening up our communications with regards to mental health.

Innovation

We understand the importance of research and development in order to innovate and find new ways of doing things. We encourage team members to come up with new ideas and innovations and offer recognition and rewards if these suggestions are implemented within the business.
