The event, a highlight in Lincoln’s sporting calendar, brought together runners, businesses, and community groups from across the region.

Stuart Denniss, Director of Architecture at Waldeck, reflected:

“We were so proud to be part of such a fantastic event. It was more than just a race – it was a chance to come together as a team and support a cause we care deeply about. Even though I couldn’t run this year due to an injury, I was thrilled to see the team give it their all.”

Originally, Stuart had planned to run the race dressed as Courage the Cat, Cash for Kids’ mascot, after meeting the charity at the Lincolnshire Construction & Property Awards. When injury struck, David Foster stepped in.

David shared:

“I started off full beams, with lots of enthusiasm but quickly realised the nice weather and the costume were against me. Between the heat of the mascot head and sweating through multiple layers it felt more like a sauna than a fun run!

“Still, it was absolutely worth it to raise money for such a deserving cause, and by taking a few breathers, staying hydrated, and with the amazing crowd energy and support from my colleagues Will and Jez, I pushed through to finish in 1hr 25min.”

Hannah Clark, Charity Manager at Cash for Kids, shared her gratitude:

“The support from Waldeck has been incredible. Thanks to their fundraising, we can continue providing emergency grants and run vital campaigns like Cash for Kids Day, which tackles food poverty and supports vulnerable children during school holidays.

“With the help of businesses like Waldeck, we’re able to reach more children in need. Thank you for everything you’ve done – together, we’re making a real difference.”
